PSA: THREATENING SOMEONE THAT YOU’LL UNFOLLOW THEM BECAUSE YOU DON’T LIKE THEIR OPINION. IS LOW AND TRASHY AND THEY SURE AS HELL DON’T NEED YOU FOLLOWING THEM.
nyeliterp asked: Would you mind giving us a review? Thanks in advance!
Of course hun, it’s beneath the cut! Obviously the main things: my opinions are subjective and are not to be taken to heart! I’m just trying to help so don’t worry if you don’t like something I say, it’s just what I think and you don’t have to listen to a word I say! Love you guys!
verbal abuse & bullying is not ‘freedom of speech’
If you are willing to publicly tear apart anything that someone has taken their time to make - whether it’s an RP or some kind of resource - you seriously need to reevaluate why you’re running your blog. Stuff like that isn’t helping anyone and it sure as hell isn’t making you look like a stellar person either. Since when did people forget what the ‘H’ in RPH stands for? You’re not there to bash people, you’re there to help them. And yes, that means giving constructive criticism in opinions. There’s a nice way to tell people you don’t like the way their RP looks and even a nice way to tell them you joined and had a bad experience. Then you know what you do? And I’m sure this will be a BIG shock to good chunk of people out there - you help them. You give them suggestions on how to do things differently, you offer to help them with new graphics or a new theme. It’s not that hard. If you’re not capable of doing those things (here’s another shocker) don’t offer opinions and reviews. Or better yet, don’t run an RPH in any capacity. It’s as simple as that. Listen to what your parents, grandparents, whoever and if you don’t know how to say something nice, don’t say it at all. For the record, I’d like to let it be known that you will never ever, under any circumstance, find that kind of behavior here.
I have literally just joined the RPH world and going through the tag I have found some really helpful comments and stuff, but a lot of it is literally telling people that their RPG is shit.
Like, why? Even if in your opinion it is, there is a nicer way of telling people and you should say it in a way that will help them improve, not in a way that will make them feel so bad that they give up.
There are so little dedicated roleplay groups out there that being discouraging is unfair and highly de-moralising. I’m glad someone else has noticed this and that this isn’t everyone, I honestly feel bad seeing some replies on this tag!
I have completely changed my theme and colourings and stuff [went from a predominantely purple to a green/blue] with an entirely new theme. Let me know what you think!
